The guy I'm in love with is infatuated with my best friend. So I told him a bunch of lies about her. Then I tried to split them up. I know he's right for me, not her. But he just won't get over her. What do I do?

How could you do something so stupid like that to your best friend? Not only are you hurting yourself by doing this, but you are hurting your best friend and placing your friendship on the line over a guy! You need to get over him quickly, because he's in a relationship with your best friend and what gives you the right to split them up? Besides, you ought to be ashamed of yourself! There are plenty of fish in the sea, so you should find someone else!

Wow, if you do that to your “best friend”, then I don’t even want to imagine what you would do to your enemies. The Geneva Convention would have to open a new chapter just for you.
And if you wonder why he is no paying attention to you, well, maybe because you need to grow up? Just thinking out loud here…
Get a life, doing what you did will only make you loose any “friend” you might have. And forget it, you will not be able to stay in a relationship if you act like that. He will eventually dump you after he finds out who you really are (unless he is just like you and actually likes it, then you two will be fighting for the rest of your lives).
Is people like you that ones who make our society worse. You should think about it, and change the way you are. I just hope that maybe you are not like that, and you just did this in an act of desperation because you really like him. But still, you just betrayed you best friend, and made yourself a horrible person in front of him. And don’t worry, even if you get him, eventually, things will come back, cause what goes around, comes back around…. And then you will be in trouble.

the guy your in love with your best friend knows this then tried to tell him the truth about the infatuation and let her know that he's right for you and not her if he can't get over her then you have your answer already .

Leave it alone. You're just making yourself look bad and if your friend likes him too, then you're not being much of a friend to her. You're not being much of a friend to either of them if you're resorting to lying about someone you supposedly care about. If he finds out that you've lied, then he'd never totally trust anyway. You're shooting yourself in the foot here and making a fool of yourself. Anyway, if you totally pull back and things don't work out for them then you may still have a chance if he doesn't find out how manipulative you've been. Be a good friend to both of them and be gracious about it. It'll get you a lot further in the long run. It'll bring you peace as well.

Well all I gotta tell you is that IF he is right for you he will come to you! Don't force a relationship if he loves you he will come to you! Besides if you force the relationship it wont turn out to be good! And if its your bestfriend friend just know that bestfriends come before anything!

don't do anything. you've done enough damage. just wait patiently. if he's yours, he'll come around. of course you think he's right for you cause you want him...but if she ever wants him, she'll also think she's right for him and not for you. the fact you have to lie about her to split them up shows a few things: you don't think you're good enough for him, you don't think you're as good as your best friend, you think little about yourself and you don't deserve your best friend!
