TRUE!

And I'll bet you wonder how: simply put, your regular voice phone call takes up only a small portion of the bandwidth available on a copper twisted pair. It's in the "other portion of bandwidth available" that DSL service is provided.

Because this dual use is not always clean, the phone company suggests you install DSL filters to separate DSL service from your regular phone service.

That is true but with a digital hookup the equipment at either end is different. e.g. it take a different system to drive an analog circuit compared to a digital circuit. The digital signal are much clearer because the digital apparatus will examine many points on the signal and make corrections accordingly. An analog signal may only take a few sample. Digital is better!

true.
The same pair (two wires) is used for voice and dsl.
Sometimes the phone company will force you to have a voice subscription to sell you the dsl part but there are places where that is not required.
The voice on a phone is filtered and only the 300-3000 Hz section is kept. This allows the phoie company to multiplex multiple conversations on a single pair of wires.
For DSL you need the whole bandwidth, this is why the dsl equiment at the phone company needs to be physically connected to your phone (via wires)
So that you don't hear the data traffic and also so that your voice does not add noise to the digital data, the phone company usually supplies you with "dsl filters" that prevent interference between voice and data.
