From its discovery in 1493 and until 1899, when it became a U.S. territory, Puerto Rico was one of Spain`s most important colonies in the Caribbean. The 3rd. largest island in the Caribbean region (after Cuba og Hispanola) Puerto Rico measures 100 miles (160 kms) by 35 miles (56 kms). A geographical area of approximately 9000 sq.km.

Then again Jamaica says this
*11,424 square kilometers (4.411 sq. miles)
*146 miles long
*Largest English-speaking Caribbean island. Third largest Caribbean island

Jamaica is the 3rd largest island of the Caribbean archipelago, is approximately 230 km long, 80 km wide at the center and covers an area of approximately 11,500 km2.

I guess it depends on who measures Jamaica as it seems to differ on it's size
