fill your mouth with water and tip your head back so that your face is facing the ceiling. Then gurgle the water, pop the tablet in and swallow when you cant feel the tablet in your mouth. Works for me every time.

It took me until I was about 12 to be able to swallow pills. If you are given a prescription for strep throat or something, always ask for the liquid form. But if you absolutely have to take pills, there's a couple of things you can try; 1. Put the pill far back on your tongue and have a full bottle of water...just keep drinking and swallowing and eventually the pill will go down too. And make sure you're relaxed, if you're really nervous about swallowing a pill your throat can sort of tense up without you really knowing. It's not the most pleasant experience, but many times if I needed to take Dramamine or something, I would go through about 2 bottles of water, but eventually would swallow the pill. 2. You can try putting the pill in the center of a spoonful of jello, pudding, jelly, etc... But jello works best since it just slides down your throat anyway. It'll do exactly the same thing if there's a pill in it too. Good Luck, and I hope I helped!

Have a glass of water or some other liquid which you can swallow easily and quickly. Hold the tablet in your other hand. Open your mouth. Pop the tablet (or throw it) towards the back of your mouth so that it escapes the taste buds. Quickly take a big swig of water and swallow it by throwing your head backwards. It goes in easily. Eat a toffee later if needed.

Count me among those who take a mouthful of water first, then slip the pills in, tip the head back and swallow, followed by another gulp or two of water.
I've always had difficulty swallowing pills. Until I was in my late teens, my mother had to crush the pill in a spoon of juice before i was able to swallow them. Embarrassing to admit, but I did finally get the hang of it after I was prescribed some itty bitty pills for a case of poison oak.

If they don't taste disgusting then bite them in pieces, this prepares you psychologically for swallowing, then take a large sip of water, or more if you are thirsty, of course. It also improves dispersion in the stomach and speeds absorption and efficiency. Medicines that require timed dispersion are usually in gastro-resistant capsules, for which this method would obviously be inappropriate.
If that doesn't work, chew them, they'll definitely wash down easily. I bite aspirin, especially the dispersible ones that tend otherwise to fizz and lodge in your throat and chew paracetamol, which are slightly bitter.
If you can forget your fear of brief discomfort from nasty tastes this approach can apply to anything in tablet form.

Just think of it this way...
Pills (no matter how big they are) are usually no bigger than that mouthful of toast you've just swallowed. No bigger than that prawn that was in your Chinese takeaway last night. And it's WAY smaller than that big mouthful of burger you forced down your gullet at the weekend!
So just think of that when you swallow your multivitamin tablet in the morning. Simply pop the pill on the back of your tongue, add a little bit of lubrication with a mouthful of water, and think of toast!

People laugh when I do it but... I take a big swig of water and then throw my head back, which sends the pill to the back of my throat then swallow. You won't even feel it.

Put them as far back on your tongue as you can, then have a drink ( not just a sip) they will go straight down, if the size is a problem then snap them in half and do it twice!
