In 75 years the environmentalists will have found something else to focus on after their theory failed to live up to it's promise.

Sweden is doing a wonderful job at reducing global warming. They're pretty much the green city of today. If the rest of the world looked towards them, we could make alot of positive changes. Unfortunately, it all comes down to money, and the governments that are in power today and how much they are willing to do for the environment. Politics suck that way!

I think we do have the technology...again, it just comes down to which countries actually want to dish out the money to use it, and which ones are dishing it out for other things that they probably shouldn't be.

Right now, the environment is pretty much the most important thing and should be on everyone's agenda, or else we're doomed!

the technology exists today. the power companies don't advertise them because they sell their products, gas, oil, electricity. and there is no profit in them telling you to use a lot less of their products.

solar, wind and biodiesel are all available today although the prices are still a bit steep in the beginning.

we are currently waiting on a visionary like henry ford to make free solar energy available to the masses.

you need a 1/2 acre of unobstructed land to use wind power but you should be able to cut your electric bill at least in half with solar power.
maybe a lot more depending on how many days you get sun in your area. but like i said we need something that the common folk can afford and we could greatly reduce the amount of petroleum products we use.

also if california would restart lumber industry and use that wood for building instead of burning it into the atmosphere each year that would help as well.

Unfortunately it would take many thousands of years to reverse what we have done in 25 years. The real problem here is overpopulation.
