I received a violation notice for my answer to the following question:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArCQfnjtzWka1Ju8O4BEU0kjzKIX?qid=20070210134613AASaPAc

"The return of Christ?

Some signs are pointing to the fact that Christ's return is very near. What are your thoughts/beliefs surrounding this?"

The question is asking for one's thought and beliefs surrounding this. In my understanding of the Bible, numerous prophecies have already been fufilled. Daniel promised that Christ would return in exactly the year 1844 (http://reference.bahai.org/en/t/ab/SAQ/saq-10.html , http://bci.org/prophecy-fulfilled/). Therefore, I answered with the following:

"Actually, numerous signs and prophecies pointed that Christ would return in 1844, which He did. Baha'u'llah is the Return of Christ in the Glory of the Father and Promised One of all religions.

This was declared to be a violation because it was "Spam & Advertisement". Why?

palomnik, actually all I did was answer a question with my own understanding. Why is that "not a question or answer"? I am now asking a valid question. Why am I not allowed to express my beliefs regarding this? Is it proselytism to give one's own understanding when it is clearly relevant to the question being asked?

I had a similar problem once when I posted a link to the Baha'i Prophecy Fulfilled website and asked for peoples' opinions on it. It was not intended as spam, but was used to generate discussion and discover people's viewpoints on the matter. However, my question was removed as spam & advertisement.

palomnik, it was a valid answer to a valid question. What was he supposed to write? Something he didn't believe? The link was the source! Yes people should go to the source if they want to find out where these ideas come from! That is why there is a source section in the first place. This does not even resemble proselytism, by any definition.

andymcj66, what is misguided about accepting God's revelation for this day and age? Are you really certain that Christ hasn't returned? Have you investigated all the prophecies? Have you read Baha'i literature and scriptures? Don't reject something which you do not understand.

Jim McCrea, what is your definition of a prophet? I follow the definition of Jesus Christ, "Ye shall know them by their fruits". What are the fruits of Baha'u'llah? A community which is a literal cross-section of the entire human race, united in their diversity, unified in their purpose, harmonious in their functioning, promiting peace, justice and brotherhood. Baha'is are working towards world peace and unity, love and truth. The Baha'i teachings are "good fruits", proving that Baha'u'llah is a true Prophet. His name is not spelled "Hulla'balo". Are you trying to making fun of something you do not understand? Baha'u'llah is the Promised One of all ages.

I think a lot of people are scared of things which challenge their own beliefs. The idea of Christ having already returned is dismissed out of hand by most Christians. Why? Not because it violates the Bible. Numerous Biblical prophecies point to Christ having already returned. The reason is because they are afraid.

Your answer was not spam and advertisement, but someone did not like your answer, therefore they reported you and when you get reported, your question or answer is *AUTOMATICALLY* deleted. Yahoo uses a robot for this process and the violation is not reviewed unless you protest. Respond to their "notice of violation email" and let them know that your answer was not spam nor advertisement, it was answering the question and providing a source. This was clearly abuse of the "report abuse" feature. Yahoo won't re-post your answer, but they'll restore the points they deducted for the violation.

Some people are afraid of accepting the fact that He came back as a Thief in the Night. They are still expecting Him to appear like in the paintings of the Middle Ages. But please, let nothing grieve thee, be patient, these people will realise sooner or later the the Message of God for this period has been revealed in Persia.

Someone got trigger happy, and the gods of Yahoo! Answers were asleep at the switch.

I see no community violations with your answer. Post this on the Suggestions Board and see what you can come up with.

I think it's misguided and wrong but I don't see why you should be prevented from posting your viewpoint.
