Yes, it most definitely is a huge thing, it's gargantuan if fact. This will have such dramatic effects on the relationship. Unless of course, you or your spouse is more understanding and trusting than most people. I would try to work things out with that person before making any rash decisions, if it happens again, they, like a bad habbit, need to be dropped.
Cheating will have an effect on your for the rest of your life though. So no matter what happens, or where life takes you, always be prepared to have recurrent thoughts on the matter, whether it be from you or your spouse. Communication is an important factor in the possibility of healing from this situation. ALWAYS keep an open line of communication when in any relationship. Talk things out, and you'll find that the more honest you are, the less trouble your spouse (or you) will be in.
All wounds need time to heal, including traumatic emotional, or psychological ones, there is no difference between physical, or mental wounds. Allow yourself some space, honesty, and communication, if you do, they may just be help in this situation.
Good luck to you!
God Bless!

Get out while the going is good. If he is unfaithful after just a few years, imagine spending 15 years, 3 kids, a house and a dog. It is much harder to get out then. My husband was a cheater, I could neve develope enough trust in him again. This does not include the trip to the gyne to treat the STD he bought home to me. Cheating is DANGEROUS. There are two many diseases out there to risk it.

ummm.... YEAH! Have you ever watched Grey's Anatomy... it is a huge deal. The person you planned on spending the rest of your life with has shared the most intimate experience two humans can have with someone else and in the process DISRESPECTED your home and you. That is something you should not forgive.

Well yes, I am i would talk to your spouse and tell them that you are having dreams like this. Than you both can talk it out. i don't know anyone who has not had a deam about someone else in there dream. So you need to talk about it so you don't have to worry all the time about it.

It takes a real scumbag to cheat on you in your own bed... or in anyone else's bed for that matter.
Sorry to hear it, but have faith -- there are lots of great single/divorced guys out here who would treat you better.

The only time it wouldn't be a HUGE thing is if you were doing the same thing behind their back.
