Great question that has really got me thinking, Moorer didnt really have any competition at Light Heavy he only started getting beat when he moved up to try and take on the big boys at Heavy, if he had stayed down at Light Heavy he may well of gone unbeaten as he was that dominant at that point in time. The only other person to dominate like Moorer did as i remember is Roy Jones Jr the only argument you may have is the quality of opponents put in against them, but i would have to say that both will go down in the list for the top ten Light Heavys of alltime.
As for the fight between them i am having problems splitting the two, If Moorer can connect its lights out for Jones but as we all know Roy was so difficult to catch cleanly and that was by smaller quicker men than Moorer as well. The fight that has helped me make a decision is the second Tarver Vs Jones Jr fight i am going to take Moorer to KO Roy early on just as Tarver did, i think Roys showboating would be his downfall in this fight as he just makes Moorer more angry and Moorer eventually gets him with a big left hand that puts Jones Jr down for the full count as early as the 4th Rnd.

Hind site is 20/20 KNOWING WHAT WE KNOW NOW ABOUT Roy Jones Jr. Losing three light heavy weight fights it,s easy to pick Micheal Moorer but would any of you picked Moorer be for the first Tarver fight and lets not for get how old Roy Jones was at the time with that being said I would pick Roy Jones Jr. in his prime over Moorer by decision

Moorer was 22 wins no losses at light heavyweight with 22 KO's. Roy Jones is a great fighter but Moorer takes this decision.

Excellent match up at light heavy. Moorer had devastating punching power at this weight, but could he catch Jones? I see Jones using a lot of movement, getting in with his punches and moving away from Moorer's power, which was in his right hand. I see the much speedier Jones capturing a decision in this fight. His athletic style would have Moorer chasing him all night long.

In their prime I'd give the edge to Jones Jr. Way too fast for Moorer.

Moorer because light heavyweight is much more natural weight for him to be at. Jones would have to gain and that's a disadvantage.

to be honest i'd have to say micheal moorer, for the simple fact that the last 3 of jones's fight he's been knocked out. i mean im a big jones fan but on his last few fights its looks to me he aint even tryin. he sits on the ropes an gits punished for it... so it'll be micheal moorer in the 5th round
