I can only get a pain free night if I sleep in a pile of pillows in the corner of the couch...Sort of half sitting....It feels like the mucles in between my ribs all the way around but maily in my back.....I have had no injuries....But If I sleep flat I am in so much pain after a few hours that I can barely roll over or take a deep breath...What is up with that!?....I'm only 36 slightly overweight but definitley not enough to have this kind of effect...What is it?

Most back pain is temporary and can be treated without any expensive medication or surgery. Applying a heating pad , warm compress or an icepack to the affected area will help . Exercises
like walking , swimming or massaging and back belts provide relief . Avoid stretching ,carrying heavy loads or standing with a bent back while performing your daily activities . More details and

I think you need a new bed...I've had 1 bed for 16-17 years and a few months ago got a new pillow top mattress and I feel so much better in the mornings.

Try a pillow top or tempurpedic mattress.

I think you are having muscle spasms. I would take some Valerian, it will ease the spasms and help you sleep. Your lower back is likely starting it's aging process, yeah I know, it sucks. What happens is the discs get dry and loose there bounce, the muscle try to guard the spine, thus the spasms. You might want to see an orthopaedic doctor and have an exam.

Could be the bed.. Try putting a towel under your low back.. See if that makes a difference. .Maybe you need to strengthen your abdominal muscles.. If so.. do it slowly.. I'd see a Dr. If that doesn't work. Try the sleep number bed.. We just got one. My wife swears by it. I swore when I saw how much it cost.. that made my back hurt! lol. Good luck

It sounds like your bed is the problem. Try spending the night at someone elses house and see how you feel on their bed then if it still hurts you should see you Primary doctor to see if he can order an MRI and see what the problem is
