This fight nearly happened in the late 90s but Collins chose to retire and Calzaghe went on to fight Chris Eubank for Collins,s vacent title. Super middleweight contest who wins?

If the fight took place when it was supposed too then it would of been a Calzaghe victory as i think Steve was beginning to get to the end of his career and the last thing he needed at that time was to get in with the young, fast and strong Calzaghe which was the same mistake that Eubank and Woodhall made. If they both fought in their primes i think it would be a lot closer with Collins maybe taking a very close decision, Collins had the heart of a lion and would of walked through anything Joe would throw to land his own shots, would of been a very interesting one to watch, great question.
