I just have a hard time figuring out why a god would make a baby be born prematurely and then kill it.

Oh, yeah. Despite his track record he doesn't kill children.

Why would God allow a child to be born prematurely and then watch it die?

What was the good in that?

Perhaps the child would have grown to be a tyrant or something, right???

The funny thing is that the woman is correct: God did not make a mistake at all. Otherwise He would neither be omniscient nor omnipotent. However, we humans have a hard time understanding how God works, especially when we use our mortal senses and mind to gage (gauge) His actions.

It is in cases as this one that we need to understand what Karma and Reincarnation are all about. Even when it looks like the greatest injustice has occurred, the truth is that the parties involved are probably working off some karmic interplay, which may have its roots in earlier lifetimes. That is why the good-for-nothing may win the big lottery, while the honest and hard-working may seem to be unlucky all the time.

Perhaps this child was so precious to God that He only allows it to obtain a body and then return to Him in all purity. The child did not suffer the temptations and pains of growing up in this world and did not transgress. Why do you think that God is going to press His will upon people? That is not the way it works. All people have choice; all have to be accountable for their choices. God is not going to run around "fixing" everything for everyone. Is this what your earthly parent do? Or do they expect you to grow up and take care of yourself? Think about this.

You're forgetting we're living in a cursed/fallen world. Before Adam and Eve sinned, everything God made was "Good". It's far from that now.

Maybe she was supposed to get an abortion or god was punishing her. Maybe god is a malign thug. Maybe there is no god and all prophets are false.
