Zoloft increased my anxiety. Talk to your doctor about swithing to a different med. Valium is a the longest acting one out of the three. It will last longer than 24 hours.

I think you are heading in the wrong direction. Your doctor sounds like he just fell off the tuna truck! All you will do is get addicted on Valium. Your body is trying to tell you something and if you try to ignore it it will get worse. I went to therapy and they prescribed me an anti depressant. The problem is the attacks got worse. They were so bad I would collapse on the floor hyperventilating. I couldn't go out and quit my job. I stayed home for a year. The fear I had turned to anger and I finally decided to do something about it. I got books on the subject and there was one in particular that helped me. The book is called "Don't Panic". It not only had information on the disorder but techniques to stop them. Breath work, meditation, and stuff like that. At first i thought I couldn't do this when I feel like I am dying but I started to try. I got control. I dealt with it and stopped it. Once in a great while I feel one coming on,but I do the correct breathing and get control of it. I strongly suggest you do the same, the pills won't help. They will at best be a stall! Good luck.

My friends was so bad she couldn't leave the house or keep her jobs. She had tried many other meds (paxil, zoloft, lexapro, etc.) her doctor finally put her on Lithium, and it is the only thing that has worked for her.
Good luck.

You need to talk to a doctor about getting on an SSRI such as Paxil. It is a long term treatment, where the benzodiazepenes you are taking will cause a yo-yo anxiety/relief cycle.
