Go back to the doctors and insist that someone tells you exactly what it is, if they laugh that should be reported, they are there to do a job, not to make patients feel stupid or worried about returning!

Personally i would go back and request a second opinion, its your rights and don't let them tell you anything different!

Good luck i hope you get it sorted!

Back when I was a teenager, I had a lump on one side of the neck and then the other side (lymph nodes). Like you, I was always tired, slept all the time, felt lousy, and the lumps hurt as well. I went to the Doc and the first thing he ordered was blood work. It came back with a definite diagnosis of mononucleosis. I did not feel well again for about six months. It was not a serious disease, but it made me feel like crap.
Lumps of any sort should not be taken lightly. It's not usually serious, but you have to check. If your MD is not doing any additional testing and just sending you home with a smile and a pat on the head, then I suggest that you seek advice from someone else.
I don't say this to be morbid, but my wife had a sore on the bottom of her foot and her MD kept saying, "It's nothing. Don't worry about it". After almost a year it began to hurt and she saw a dermatologist who immediately had it tested. It turned out to be malignant melanoma that had spread to the lymph nodes. Four years later she died of the disease.
The moral of the story is, "If you have something that ain't going away, have it tested sooner rather than later".

Sounds like glandular fever (infectious mononucleosis) to me. I wouldn't worry too much but it's best to go back to the doctors and get it diagnosed. Be sure to mention the other symptoms - I've found doctors pay a lot more attention if it's affecting your day to day life.

If it IS glandular fever there's nothing to really worry about. The doctor will probably send you for a blood test to confirm it, and maybe prescribe antibiotics, but that's it.

In the meantime, just try to keep a decent sleeping pattern, stay active and maintain a healthy diet. Good luck.

Go back to the doctor don't be dramatic but ask to be referred, unless tests are done no-one can say what it is . Try to see the original G.P. Any Dr. who laughs should not be practising. The trouble is tests cost money the NHS has no money so they try to put you off, stand your ground. The G.P might be able to do some tests themselves, accept that. If all else fails ask to be referred privately It won't cost that much for one consultation and you can be switched back to the NHS if there is really cause for concern if not you will be able to stop worrying. You are being perfectly reasonable, it's probably nothing but you need to know that. Good Luck and Good Health.

I cannot stress this enough: GET ANOTHER DOCTOR!!!! Not another doctor in the same practice, another practice altogether.

You shouldn't have "lumps" anywhere, especially in your lymph nodes or glands. You shouldn't be that tired. You shouldn't be laughed off by doctors, or put off by them. After the anti-biotics didn't do the trick, they should have started running a few tests. After this many visits, they should be seriously looking into this.

Please go to the Dr. again ask to see a throat Dr . Have a cat scan done and a biopsy.Do this like yesterday! If it's nothing great but it's the what if that concerns me.Yes, lymph nodes will swell with infection but this sounds different as it is growing.
No question is stupid . When I read your symptoms it truly bothered me. You see Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma can show these signs. I am not trying to scare you but only to get you to push on for a medical diagnoses. Your like is too precious to go by answers here. See Your Doctor NOW!!!!!!!!!

You should go to a lymph gland specialist. Don't know where you are located by there is a lymphoma center in Irvine California that is suppose to be good. 7 weeks is too long to be going to yahoo (excuse the pun) doctors.

See an ENT (ear, nose, throat) specialist-- a kind of medical dr. Also known as an otolaryngologist.

If you cannot breathe or swallow then go to an ER. I wouldn't just use the ER as a clinic because I don't want to be there for 6 hours (or longer). A&E (accidents and emergency) is the term used in Britain.

I had something very similar for about 6 months.Didn't do anything about it because i thought the worst and didn't want it confirmed!Anyway before Christmas it really started to get red and bigger, went to doctors and it turned out to be a cyst that had turned in to an abscess.I had to have it operated on immediately.Try and get it sorted straight away as they will give you anti biotics and this should clear it up before it gets to the stage mine did.Hope this helps!

dermatologist? It might be due to an allery or some sort of toxin. I would recommend using a hot, damp towel and putting it on the area. It might be a bite. However, ive never had any lumps on my neck so i dont know what exactly to tell you. Good luck, and i hope it goes away...soon
