I would say if she is waking up every day with a dry diaper, then she is ready to stop wearing a diaper to bed. She must be waking up consistently with a dry diaper, at least 4-5 days in a row. Also, get a good waterproof matress cover for the bed because there will inevitably be an accident or two.
If she is not ready, don't push her. She learn in due time.

If she consistently wakes up dry, she no longer needs a diaper. Ditch the diaper and buy one of those water proof mattress protectors that go under the sheets. You might have to do some extra laundry at first, but at 4 years old, she will be successful in no time. If she DOES continue wetting the bed at night, you might talk to her doctor. Sometimes bladder infections are the cause of bedwetting in potty-trained kids.

My four year old daughter was wearing diaper for a night, I wasn't sure if she is ready. One day she told me that she doesn't want a diaper. So I said OK. Before a bed we went to a bathroom...and its been a 3 months now. Since than she had a 2 accidents.
Just try to ask her. you will see. Good luck

Is her diaper dry. Just make sure she uses the restroom before bed and get her used to wearing her undies all the time. Kids are smart and putting a diaper on her at night is probably sending mixed messages.

Well, I take it you are inferring that she would wet the bed if she did not wear one . At age four if a kid wets the bed it definitely should be examined by a good Pediatrician . Hopefully she does not have a bladder problem .But you ought to make sure all is healthy there .
Some kids sleep so soundly, they don't wake up. She should have nothing to drink after early evening depending on when she goes to bed . And don't listen to begging and teasing. Remember you are breaking a bad habit .
If she still wets the bed, set your alarm and get her up once in the middle of the night . That is punishment ,I have done it , punishment for you, not the kid .
Mine dragged on forever but eventually at like about 8-9 she got the message . And I was exhausted. LOL
For whatever it's worth, hang in there . For the rest of my life the smell of urine makes me livid. Brings back memories of all the ruined beds and bedding I washed.
You have my true empathy .

Cut her liquids off early. At 4 years old she should be able to stay dry until morning. (if you want her to keep a diaper on at night then she shouldn't wake up wet and the diaper should remain dry. That's when you know. She's a big girl let her know!

When she stops wetting the bed.
Tell her she's a big girl and can go to the bathroom when she has to go potty at night. I would start her out with "Pull UPS" instead of diapers. And, tell her when she gets up in the morning with dry Pull UPS, she will be able to wear the big girl panties to bed too.

Try pull-ups, or the ones with cool sensation..
Does she pee in her diaper through the night?
If she doesn't wet her diaper nighttime then she doesn't need a diaper.
Try cutting back fluids close to bedtime. Make her pee before bed and try it out for a night.

You know when they are ready when they wake up dry and use the toilet. Many children do not acheive night dryness until much later than her. Try pull ups instead of diapers better for a child her age.
