So I just dyed my hair and I've dyed it about 4 other times. I can't remember how long I am not supposed to wash it so I don't strip the color. Is it 2 days ? Yeah, I know that sounds icky, but it's what my stylist told me. Any help ?

With color I didn't think you had a wait time. I know the rule of thumb with perm used to be to wait two days before washing, but this might be old school now too.

It is recommended that you wait 48 hours to wash your hair, but it really depends on the brand of the dye the sylist uses and they type of hair you have. If you have pourous hair, then you may lose color sooner. When I have had my hair dyed by Aveda, I never had to wait. I could wash it the next day. You need to also avoid shampoos and conditioners that contain wax, which strips dye from the hair. This is all from personal experience. Good luck!

If the color took correctly you can wash it right away.
Once the color has penetrated the cuticle of the hair it's locked in there. Just don't use any harsh shampoos to pull the color. Best to buy a shampoo for color treated hair. Also use a conditioner to keep your hair from drying out.

i dont know why your stylist told u u cant wash it for a couple days? im a stylist, wash your hair when ever you need to, on an average, people are supposed to wash their hair every other day and it also depends on what kind of hair texture u have

is your hair color permanent? you can wash it asap,
if its demi-permanent or temporary, its going to fade either way
