No, you'll just be hungrier and be more apt to overeat at your next meal. Have a salad, some vegetables, lean meat for dinner.

That's a tricky question.
First off, if you skip dinner, are you still getting enough calories? Your body has a minimum calorie requirement needed to maintain its biochemical functions. If you eat too little, than your body goes into a mode to protect itself by storing fat.
Go here:
http://www.caloriecontrol.org/calcalcs.html
This is a calorie calculator (make sure to pick the male one if you're a guy). It will tell you--depending on your age, weight, height, and physical activity--how many calories you need a day to MAINTAIN your weight. Cut 500 from that and try to stay close to eating that much a day. If you eat too little, than that can slow weight loss because when you don't eat enough, your body pours out an excess of a fat-storing enzyme (which holds onto your fat, making it harder to lose).
Also, another thing. When you don't eat for a long period of time (hours, I mean), your body's metabolism slows down. So if it's 8pm and you skip dinner and then don't eat again until breakfast at 8am the next morning, what happens is your body hasn't eaten for 12hrs and that slows down your metabolism a lot (this is a reason it's better to eat 6 small meals instead of 3 big ones).
Instead of SKIPPING dinner, which could adversely affect weight loss... try a healthier idea. Have 5-6 small meals during the day. During the last meal (technically dinner, but really small), make it as low-carb as you can. Plained boiled chicken with seasoning. Or a protein shake. Or eggwhites and cottage cheese. Or AT LEAST a salad loaded with complex carbs like veggies. In other words, NO bread or grains or rice or cereal or anything for your last meal. Unless you do cardio workout at night, aim to eat 70% of your carbs/fats early on in the day.

Skipping meals only slows down your metabolism. You should eat a small dinner rather than skipping it

I not a specialist nutritionist, but I think it's not good to skip a meal.
You need to have all the vitamins to give you power for work.
Hope that help ;-)

skipping meals can actually make it harder to lose weight bc it slows down your metabolism. its actually better to eat 5-6 small meals a day bc that keeps your metabolism going.

More God-made foods, less man-made, less processed, chemically infused foods!!!!
I am loosing weight.
I found out I am a protein type body.
I cant eat flour, especially bleached flours. I eat beans-rice.
OH butter is more natual than fake margerine- I threw out margarin!!!
NO TO THA TAP WATER!!!!
CHLORINE=BAD!!!
Bottled water, or boil tap water for 15 min to rid of chemicals in water!!!
Im tellin you- the minute i cut out that tap water, i lost 10 lbs!!!!
OHHHH- coffee=good for you. coffee in tha mornin'!
No to the flour cereals=hungry soon after, rises blood sugar levels quickly, and soon hungry cause of blood sugar drops.
More God made grains, in purest forms.
No to the flour noodles.
Use rice in place (brown rice).
I dont exercise really. I should but by doing these things, i am loosing wieght!!!!!!
So, coffee (i do use alot of bad hydrgenated oil-coffee creamer though)
Drink GOOD WATER ONLY. CHlorine deforms fat cells or something crazy. Did you know fats cells draw new fat cells.?? You only want good fats, which are real fats butter, not fake margerines, which are chemically made with nickel in it. yuck.
Use honey, not sugar, especial BLEACHED white sugar. I threw out white sugar. If you must use real brown unbleached raw sugar(once a week have junk if you want, but not daily)
God-made, not Man made & mixed foods.
FDA says eat lots of flour, flour is as sugar causeing diabetes in many, even kids. I( had diabetes, but learned of god-made verses man-made foods.

yes. More importantly, eating dinner earlier in the evening and being active before bedtime does the same job without sacrificing one's health.
