I read a horrible news story yesterday- A vet that fought in Iraq was so depressed traumatized and emotionally hurt, he tried to get help from the VA for his emotional trauma- but was told he was on a waiting list- The vet couldnt wait, and killed himself.

WHY was he on a waiting list to be helped??

Of the billions of dollars being blown on Iraq, what percenatge is being spent to help the soldiers who come back? I stongly oppose this war, but do feel the vets deserve top notch care, and millions dollars should be spent to make sure all vets get full treatement for any physical or emotional injuries.

Has Bush fullfilled his promice at taking care of the vets that came back from Iraq, or has he turned his back on them?

In having the soldiers serve multiple tours, its almost as if they are regarded little more than cannon fodder. They deserve better....

As a vet who uses V.A. med. I can tell you that in the very years when they have made so many vets, the Bush administration has progressively cut funding for care.

The cost of meds has tripled, and most of the doctors are interns and natives of other countries who had trouble finding a hospital. My physician, a very nice and helpful lady, is not even an M.D. but some other degree like homeopathic or something. And in the large hospitals, personnel have been cut and services are harder to qualify for. To get meds I must use the V.A. doctor where a visit costs ten dollars more than a call on my regular civilian doctor.

Why not? All of Bush's people ducked service and have never worn a uniform. They want fresh cannon fodder, not needy old veterans.

They just had the director of the VA on C-Span yesterday and was talking to Congress about funding and the VA budget. Bush and Congress have expanded the VA budget each year over the last few. No one is cutting funding. Expanding the VA, or any private or government agency can not be done overnight. It is regrettable that some vets have to be put on lists, but the VA is expanding and it should be happening less and less as time goes on.

Read the VA website... Bush has increased the VA Budget by over 77% since he took office. I ain't crazy about Bush either, but check the FACTS!!!

Republicans say t hey support the troops, but Liberals do it.

The latest cut by the Bushies is to get rid of every single "case worker."

These are the people that work with our most seriously disabled (multiple amputations) to help them get organized to start a life outside the hospital. The case workers do things like help them get all the benefits they're entitled to, get apartments, arrange transportation, and all that sort of mundane, but very important stuff.

Democrats are trying to undo all these cuts, but Repubs are blocking.
