It sounds like you have been doing strength-training exercises but not any cardio. There are several cardiovascular exercises you can do, including running, walking, biking, and elliptical machine you may see at your local gym, kickboxing, jumping rope, or my personal favorite, swimming. Try to mix up your routine and couple cardio training with your weight lifting. The cardio portion of your workout should be a 30-40 minutes for a minimum of 3 days/week. While running does seem to burn a hefty number of calories in a short amount of time, be careful, as it can be hard on the knees!
For more information on the importance of cardiovascular exercise and types of workouts, check out http://diet.ivillage.com/workouts/wcardio/0,,mj33,00.html. Have fun!

Running is definately a good option. I do it while slimming mostly because it feels good and stunts my appetite.
For your question though, no, its not the fastest way. A diet restriction is easier/faster.
Think of it this way. Depending on your body weight you probably burn about 100/120 calories per mile that you run. Is it easier to NOT eat a ham sandwich or is it easier to run 5 miles? That's my point.
Running is good though, and should be done with a calorie restriction. As for weight lifting, you can't expect to gain any muscle while on a calorie restriction, but if you lose it smart, you shouldn't lose that much muscle mass.

any type of cardio will help...also diet...cut down carbs, sugars etc etc...i'm sure I don't have to tell u since you been working out anyways.
Here's a great way to loose weight fast with cardo....run for 15mins hop off the treadmill and go straight to the bike, bike for about 15-20mins then hop on the stair machine...it's killer but a great overall work out. Also, what you want to do is sprint...what i mean by that is...if you're just gonna run or use the treadmill do this.....run really fast for about 10-15 mins....slowdown your heart rate for about 5 mins...then sprint again for 10-15 mins. What that does is it's sort of like turning on/off a car....on the initial start up you use more gas then letting it run idle or at a constant speed. so you're doing the same thing to your system...you're shocking it....do that the sprint thing for about 40 min to an 1 hr everyother day.

Yea. Run at a good pace for like 20 minutes a day, plus weight lifting should help a lot.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

Aerobic exercise will help you to lose weight without losing muscle - walking, running, swimming - whatever meets your lifestyle. Portion control and cutting way down on carbs will help too (drastically reduce or elimate all candy, ice cream, rice, potatoes, pasta & bread).

To successfully lose weight, you must carry out
a plan to balance your caloric intake with exercise.
Ideally, dieting should be done by eating a nutritionally
balanced, low-calorie diet and increasing physical activity.
