my boyfriend said he was gonna give me a promis ring on valentines day, and now he says he wants to give it to me on our 6th month anniversary instead, wich is gonna be in may 2007. why does he want to give it to me in may instead of february?

He doesn't yet have the money to buy the ring - but obviously, he doesn't want to tell you that (most likely out of embarrassment).
Instead of pushing him on the issue, or making him feel guilty just agree with his plans.
It's the thought that counts. Just appreciate that he wants to hold up his end of the promise.
Let it go and don't worry about it. Enjoy St. Valentines Day with him.

maybe he is a little short on cash and/or saving the money to get you a really nice one. Sometimes guys don't like admitting they don't have much $.
If your 6 month anniversary is in may, it means that v-day would only be around your 3 month anniversary, so it is very early. I would probably mean more, because those first 6 months can either make or break a relationship!

1) Maybe he's strapped for cash.
2) Three months and you want a promise ring? Whoa. Little anxious, are we?
In any case, I have to wonder about a man who promises you a promise ring and then breaks the promise.
I also have to wonder about a woman who is wanting a ring from a guy, which should indicate a certain degree of intimacy...but who doesn't feel free to ask the guy questions and listen to the answers.
You know him well enough to want jewelry from him. Go ask. Until you two can communicate, jewelry should be out.
P.S. On Valentine's Day, if he wants to have sex...say "I planned to, but I think I want to wait until our six month anniversary."

Because hes scared thats my guess he is second guessing jumping the gun there. He probably got the gears from some of his buddies and is nervous that hes starting something that could be wrong. Reassure him that you love being with him and if he feels the same way at this time you'll get it. OR MAYBE ITS A SUPRISE, and your gonna get the ring ;) good luck

Maybe he sees it like this: "Baby we've been together for 6 months now wow that's a long time to be in love and to discover each other. I'd like to make this promise to you and have you make it to me also that we'll be married before we have sex so that's why I'm giving you this ring to symblize our promise to remain pure and abstinent until we are married. I thought of valentines day but I think it means more and it's more special on our 6 month aniversary. I love you girl." Maybe that's how he sees it. Who knows ask him.

He's changing his mind or he wants to wait until your anniversary. I'm not sure which. If he starts acting strange be on alert for something bad to happen. It could be nothing though.
