how cool was it in your home over night?
The official answer is no. But it happens to me too, especially with soup or chili. So I give it a good sniff and if it smells ok, I'll keep it. If it smells foul, toss it.
Then when you go to heat it up, if it tastes funny, don't risk it, toss it.
But if it smells ok and tastes ok, I would eat it.
Little kids and old people are more susceptible to food poisoning, so even if it seems ok to you, I might not give it to very young or very old folks.
Good luck!

The closer it gets to 24 hours out the more likely I am to not eat it. If it's something I left out at night I'll eat it in the morning. But that's just me. I have a gut of steel. When I was homeless I ate garbage. Another thing, if it's cold outside it might have gotten a little cold on the stove. Not recommending it, but I'm sure I'd live.

Good? LOL, chances are that it's better today than it was last night.
I've learned that chili is better if it's left out over the first night. It does something to the flavor, makes it better and more absorbed into the meat.
I only wish I had some of your chili right now. It's got to be better than anything I could buy.

Heat it thoroughly to the boiling point, then turn the heat down and let it simmer for five minutes or so, stirring frequently. Grab you some saltines and a glass of iced tea and chonk that bad boy chili right down! YUM, YUM!!!!

It's not worth the risk - throw it out, and make another pot. Food poisoning is MISERABLE and can put you in the hospital - and you can't always go by the smell, unless it's really bad it's not going to smell different. Don't take the chance, food poisoning is nothing to mess with.

The temperature danger zone is 140f. If it was cooler then that for more then 4 hours it will most like cause food borne illness.
