Here is the thing about dieting. Diets fail because people cut themselves off from everything they like. It has to be a lifestyle change. Instead of eating everything you like they way you were that caused the weight gain in the first place, eat what you like in much smaller portions and step-up your exercise. I guarantee that you can do this and still lose weight. And you won't feel so guilty for eating something that you crave.
The only thing I would change about you going to Red Lobster is the wine. That is a LOT of calories and sugar that can sabotage your diet. Make sure when you do have an alcoholic beverage that it's not often. If it's occasionally and just one or two at the most, that's ok. Just be careful.

No. it's fine. If you're getting the garlic grilled jumbo shrimp, it has under 150 calories. A salad is very low cal and the dressing is about 50 cal, so in total, you'll probably be eating only 300-350 calories if you skip butter sauces or rice and go with the seasonal vegetables.

Ask for no dressing or diet dressing and ask if they use oil for grilling the shrimp. Shrimp by the way are high in cholesterol so if that's a consideration go with grilled fish. Hold the cheese, and croutons in the salad too. Every bit helps.

Diets do not work since 98% of the people gain the weight back. This is why America is the fattest society ever. Nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Salt has no calories but makes you fat and burning more calories does not help this fatness.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad fats, water retention and secret trick used by models to flatten their tummy before an event. Reading a book will take you hours but the information on a post, taking minutes to read, is not enough. The webpage below has just enough to know what you need to know. Links page has gov. BMI calculator to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age).

I don't think so; the shrimp is gilled, not fried or battered. Salad is always healthy and really low in calories, and vinagerette dressings are really low cal too. What's the problem? I say eat it; it's healthy and not bad to eat at all!

That sounds like an excellent diet meal - go for it!
ps vinagerette is an excellent choice for a diet dressing. Don't change a thing.

no, not at all. if you're really worried, ask for a doggie bag when you order and put half your food in it before you take the first bite. or eat it all and watch what you eat the rest of the day. and don't eat any of those cheesy garlic bread/scone things. everyone needs to splurge once in a while.

Not at all. It's really hard to stick to just your diet food. Spoiling yourself once in a while is good.

Believe it or not...What you DO has more to do with your diet than what you eat. Besides, variety will help your system balance out.
