My wife left me in September and have been trying to heel every since. I told myself not to date for a 8 to 12 months. I recently met a really cool woman at church and for some strange reason, before I knew what was going on, I had asked her out to lunch!! Like my mouth was talking and my brain was going "Hey...stop that!!" We ended up spending the whole day together and then even having dinner together too!! I really had a good time. I guess my question is, is it possible to have real feelings this soon after a scar like what have? I actually kind of like this girl and I can't tell if it is because I am needy or if I am actually compatiable.

Hey, your wife left you - who says you have to wait so long before dating? I think it's great, it's not like you're rushing to get married again right away - and good for you, you found someone you're compatible with and she obviously liked you enough to spend the entire day with you...sounds like you just need some reassurance that you're still attractive and fun. Go for it, but take it slow - good luck!

Only you can decide if it's too soon. There is no set time line, just go with what feels good. Make sure you take it slow. I started a relationship 4 months after my husband left me and we just broke up after 8 months. I realize now that it was just a band-aid that I was putting on my pain because boy does it hurt more than it should. Good luck!

You cannot put a time on this. If you met this person and you like her, there is no need to wait a certain amount of time. Your wife left you and you are free to pursue whatever you like. If you were needy you would have gone after anything a long time ago. From what you say here, its seems you are compatible. Give it a go!!

Hey you aren't asking her to marry you go have lunch. Just don't jump into a relationship you know she is the rebound girl!
