I think it is sad a lot of people cannot do things that were second nature only a few years ago such as just being able to cook properly.I also think the art of making a good cup of tea ( one of our national institutions) is going fast.Like food this is down to laziness and convenience.Although I believe convenience is often an excuse for laziness. The worst tea served in the UK is in Hotels, need I say more.

My favourite cuppa is made using good quality loose tea such as Brooke Bond Choicest or Yorkshie Gold. The pot must be warmed first and then BOILING water poured over to release all the flavours. My own personal preference is for a fairly strong cup.

By all means make yourself a cup with a tea bag, but if you have guests it really isn't much effort to brew (or 'mash') a good pot of tea.I think Hotels excell in thier mediocraty when it comes to food but their tea is like dishwater!

Fairly strong with milk. A simple own brand tea bag type tea is fine by me.

However if I'm feeling a bit stressed or sick then a strong, hot peppermint tea (no milk).

I like strong tea, English Breakfast or Assam are favourites, with only a splash of skimmed milk. Definitely no sugar. Oh yes and it has to be really hot (probably not good for my insides but ho hum)!

MY MUM'S WAY:
Take one HUGE mug.....add 2 (yes 2) PG tea bags.....1 spoon of sugar......boiling water. Let stew for at least 4-5 Min's, take bags out. Add evaporated milk, don't stir straight away, pour milk till a "cloud" comes to the top. That's when you know you got enough. Stir and ........ENJOY!!

MY WAY:
Green tea with lemon, one spoon sugar/honey. Mmmmmm!!

i only like one cup of tea a day, and thats at 6am when my eyes are half open, i like it quite hot so it burns my mouth but quite alot of milk too, so it gotta be just right. I dont like it strong but i dont like it weak. i like 2 or 2 1/2 sugars, depending on my mood and it must be in a cup not a mug!
