I offered to pay and he said no and I had to fight with him to pay for my drink. He goes out alot though som im not sure if its just him being him or if it was a date... he also kind of jokes around about it like if I said a boy was cute he would be like "Oh I thought I was the one you liked haha"

I have girl "friends" that really arn't my girlfriend at all and if I take them out I feel more than obligated to pay. It's just a gentleman thing. If they offer to pay then I let them of course. If they were the ones to invite me then I don't expect to pay for them on the other hand though. I don't expect them to ever pay for me.

In your case it's for you to decide.. If your wondering if it's a date or not then it probably is. There is a fine line between friends and lovers which has to be clearly drawn. If you want him to just be your friend then make sure he knows it and stick to your word.. don't tell him otherwise then let something happen then go back to only wanting to be friends again.. That's so emotionally stressful and cruel.

It could've been a date. But there's only one way to find out: ask him.

My best guy friend & I always hang out alone & he pays for me every single time. But it's never been considered a date. He's just a gentleman & a good friend.

So ASK if it was a date. Then you'll know for sure.

Sounds like a date to me. Generally as a guy, we don't ask women out to dinner, one on one, unless we're interested in you. We would call up a buddy and go hang out or something.
Even if you consider you and he to be really good friends, he may consider it to be more. Good Luck!

instead of asking us, why don't you just ask him? he's the only one who can really answer this question.
