I went to the dr. today and they took a strep test, which came back positive. I am using vicks 44 sore throat spray, but it can't quiet reach the back of my throat. Any advice on what to use?

stick out your tongue
and try to spray to your throat
and swallow
if that doesn't work
buy the lozenges
they work just as well
e.g. strepsils, chloraseptic

Well with the antibiotics (really do be sure to finish all of them), the sore throat should be gone in just a few days. For me, the few times I've had it, I simply used normal painkillers - Tylenol, Ibuprofen, etc. My doctor reccomended Ibuprofen doses to exceed the reccomended dose by a little, but never with Tylenol.

Not only did it relieve the sore throat, but it really just helped me relax and zone out for hours on end.

I would gargle with soluble aspirin - but don't swallow it, it won't harm you if you did though. Tilt back head and hold liquid there for as long as you can, this is effective way of soothing the soreness. Poor you!

Hot tea with honey always works for me. Try that or gargle with salt water...but the hot tea is more soothing.
