My husband and I are expecting our first child...a boy....July 1st. It took us 4 1/2 years to conceive this child so of course we are extremely thrilled. We just found out it was a boy and are very excited. So far the name we have picked out is

Alexander James-Ray.

Alex was my second choice that my husband liked better than Seth (my first choice) and James and Ray are the grandfather's middle names that we want to use. What do you think of this name? We will call him Alex. Do you think it is simple enough but unique enough? Do you think he will like his name when he is older?

Many congratulations to you both. I think it's a good, strong sounding name. It's not often that family names go together, but these do. I'm sure your son will always be proud of his name. Hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and have a smooth labor

I think keeping Alexander gives your son the option of using his formal name or Alex. That is a beautiful name. The grandfathers would be proud to have their names used and your son will have the name Alexander to make him his own person as well. You go for it!

I would just turn the two middle names around and write it without the line - Alexander Ray James - I think that way it would sound better :)
Congrats on the baby boy!

I think Alex is perfect. It isnt ghetto like some names I kno of. Alex is rooted from Alexander; a name for greatness.

I think he will love Alexander. The 2 middle names though might be kinda tough. How about combining them Alexander Jay. Congrats. on your success.

Why not just call him Alex James Ray..why Alexander if you aren't going to call him that? I think Alex will suffice. Sounds like a nice name to me.

Yes, I think he will like it. My husband has three names. The first one is unique, the second is his father's name, and the third is his mother's father's name.

Also, congratulations!!!!
