On the single that was released after the toys r us advert it was Aled. but on the Soundtrack to the film The Snowman that was released a few years earlier it was another boy. Aled Jones admitted that himself on Al Murrays show last week, so its a fact.

Yes he did he was on a programme recently singing a duet with himself
the video of him as a child and him joining in as he is now it was really good
