If I take my foreign money to the airport in atlanta, will there be a fee? Parking sucks, and I suppose my Yougslavian $ would be not much at all. lol. Basically, will they be able to just exchang it on the spot?

The airport currency exchange will not buy coins or banknotes from obscure countries because they can't make a profit on it.
Also, bear in mind that Yugoslavia no longer exists (Serbia, Croatia, Macedonia, and Bosnia Herzegovina all have their own currencies and Slovenia now uses the Euro).
Call first and find out which currencies they will or won't buy (Contact information below. Travelex charges a $5.00 commission, discount with AAA membership). Better still, go to a coin shop first.

Its not a wise idea to bring wads of cash into the US- you're immediately going to be suspected by US Customs of being either a drug dealer or an escapee trying to claim international asylum. Coming from the former Yugoslavia doesnt exactly help your case either.

Check the US customs web site, but I believe you have to declare anything over $1000 in cash, and it probably will be subject to tariffs. The best thing to do is to use an intl credit card like Visa or MC to get cash at any airport. They'll charge you a fee of course, but its better than tariffs.

Just take out money in your destination country using your ATM card. The airport currency exchanges are the worst place to go.
