I find it a bit disturbing as well. One of my superiors at work can see his front door and the trash can in the front of the driveway...he doesn't like it, even though no one's in the picture. Some of the other answerers don't seem to know exactly what the Google Street View is. It's not the satellite view, it's an actual view of the street. People can drive down a street, taking pictures as they go and of the houses, businesses, etc. on that street. They often catch people in the pictures. It's not a bird's eye view of the street and houses, it's a human-eye level view.

You've already had recommendations for googlemaps and for streetmap.co.uk, both of which are, in my opinion, better than the others.

If you have a particular address you're looking for in the UK, don't ignore www.bt.com which in addition to giving you the telephone number also accurately pinpoints the address sorting on the FULL UK postcode which most of the others, being American, don't do.

google.maps.com I use it for my street maps of Scotland, N.I, and other various places!! Quite good, you can nearly zoom right to the front door of the house/buisness you are looking for!!

Try Local.Live.com and then click on Maps.Live.com
put your address or the address you are looking for in the address bar. You should end up with an aerial view of the address. I think most properties in the UK are covered.
Best of luck.
