If your boyfriend is saying you have "no class," that is the start of emotional abuse. Maybe it's time for him to go versus you trying to meet someone else's expectations ! Also, someone who uses the word "class" or "classy" isn't classy himself. Class is a state of mind, not a word.
But, if you want to work on self-improvement (for YOUR own benefit, no one else's), here are some ideas:
1. Lower the volume level of your voice when you talk; don't talk as loudly as boys do or as you were used to growing up.
2. Don't cuss or use vulgar words regularly--save them for the five or six times in a person's life when they really will do some good.
3. Speak in full sentences--try to use more descriptive words when you speak (it's ok to slow down while you are speaking , for now, as you practice getting better descriptive words) instead of "uh-huh" "un-unh" "yeah" "nice" "good." It's the difference between people seeing you as educated or uneducated -- just the use of different words !! Practice on crossword puzzles, looking up words. Speak clearly using good diction.
4. Clothing: Always match the top with the slacks or skirt (creating a unifying figure), and vary the outfit with a patterned or other colored jacket or a FEW pieces of jewelry. Shoes can match the top/slacks/skirt or the jacket. Think working within a color family--black/white/gray/silver/royal blue or brown/orange/tan/ or gray/raspberry/violet. Always think "less is more" when getting dressed, not the other way around. Do not have "decorated" nails, just a solid color will do.
5. Jewelry--again, less is more. No multiple fake diamond rings, or multiple necklaces that don't match. No facial jewelry, except ears/earrings.
6. Posture: Bring yourself up to your full height; straighten your back, and hold your head as if a string is attached towards the back of your skull.
7. Poise: Practice walking in heels and balancing a big book on your head. Walk by placing one leg in front of the other (without tripping). Cross your legs when you sit down, don't leave them hang out like a guys. Another way to sit is to have your legs together, but when seated, cross them slightly at the ankles.
If you stand for a photograph, one foot slightly in front of the other, smile with bottom jaw slightly pushed into the top row of teeth.
8. Never chew with an open mouth. Never talk while you're eating. Use a napkin regularly. Never lick your fingers, unless it's barbecue. Always leave the last helping for someone else. Don't pick your teeth, brush them in the bathroom.
9. At dinner, pick up your fork/spoon/knife with one hand and use the dominant hand with them. Do not have one utensil in one hand and one in the other, unless you are cutting food. Extend one index finger on the fork when cutting, not holding it with a fist with the tines jabbed into the meat. If you leave the table, leave the napkin in your chair. If at the end of the meal, fold the napkin and leave at the side of the plate. If you are finished with a meal, set your fork and knife together on the plate for the server to take it.
REMEMBER, these are ideas for you to improve on, if you decide to, not because someone wants you to change. Make him want you, not the other way around ! Good luck !

You should always be yourself...never compromise for anyone, for if you do, you'll end up hating yourself in the end. I too was the same way as you are now. The change came as I got older. If a guy said I had no class...I really didn't give a good goddamn because I was comfortable with being me. You'll grow out of it eventually...and really, I've never fully grown out of it...I still cuss like a sailor and even dress down sometimes...but the point is, be happy in your skin...just because your bf says you don't have class, doesn't mean you don't. Unlike men, women are born with class, honey...so let him know he's talking to the wrong one. Be blessed.

yes you can help it. my friends tend to curses, so it's easy to pick it up. have you heard other people curse? has it ever sounded bad or uneducated? if so, stop cursing. you should continue to act as yourself and finding class? pick up on how others act. see what you think is "classy" or not. like if a girl carries herself well and with confidence, pick that up.....

Just be yourself. There's nothing more unappealing than someone with no class trying to act like they have it. Who needs class anyway...what's it for?
