I deal poker in Vegas and I'm sorry to say that the answer is no you can't take a picture in the gaming area. The only time i have seen someone take a picture was when someone at my table hit the bad beat jackpot and he asked the floor manager if he could shoot a pic of the hand, and after some talking he was told he could take one pic of it. So maybe if you ask they may let you take a pic, but don't expect to be allowed to do more then that.

I don't think there's anything they can do about it if you are standing behind the rail that separates the poker room from the rest of the casino. As long as you are not sitting at a table, they usually don't have a problem. However, you should ask before you take your camera out, just to make sure.

ordinarily, no. if by chance he is at an outer table near the gallery, they may allow you to shoot from the gallery.... even that is a maybe. what ever you do, be sure to clear it with the casino first. being there are TV cameras all over the place, they might let you have a quick shot of him playing. they will not let you film the entire game. Why? well, not that you would, but it could be used for cheating, or maybe just studying others for tells. besides, if they let everyone do that, what a mess it would create.

Cameras are not allowed in casinos in Vegas (it's posted by the entrances). If you sneak in a digtial camera, and snap one off real quick, you might get away with it. The lighting level is real low, so you'll have to use a longer exposure time. Don't use your flash, or the security guards will be on you like Tony Soprano on a mob traitor.
Keep in mind your dad will probably not be playing in the exact same area as the WSOP, unless he is in a daily tournament.

You can use a camera phone or another device without a flash, but nothing noticeable. Cameras are allowed in some Vegas casinos, but taking video may not be.
