I went there as a postgraduate. generally people either love it or hate it. I loved it.
It is quite isolated, basically one train line which connects to Shrewsbury and the outside world. Town is fun but is small so gets a bit limited after a while.
Students Union was pretty crap in my day, dunno if it has improved.
Avoid llanbadarn campus as accomodation therre is dreadful - think prisoner cellblock H. Mind you, i liked it in a strange way, it was so small everyone knew each other.
Plus points - lovely seafront, lovely surrounding countryside, compact town centre means you can get around easily and cheaply - btw taxis are very cheap. has a cinema and a really good arts centre at the uni.
recommend the Felin Foel pub (prob spelt it wrong).
