Well I am on day 17 of antibiotics and still have facial pressure and my face is hot and a bit of nasal drip. I am also on a prescription decongestant that is the size of a horse pill. I am currently taking a new Augmention that is 2 twice a day for 10 days. After I started taking it I actually felt worse last week. So I don't know if it is doing anything. I hate all these antibiotics!!!! This started last August and I did a couple rounds of antibiotics and then freaked out and didn't get anymore and perhaps that is why I am still having problems not sure. Then I had a flare up again in November and was on antibiotics and then called and said I wasn't 100% but the nurse said try something OTC and humidifier. Then in January until now I am having the same problems again. It starts out chills and pressure and becomes so much nasal drip that I get really sick from that and my head gets so hot. This weekend my glands were swollen and my nose was running like crazy.... Any suggestions?

EXTRA... I use a nasal wash and sprays. I have tried many holistic things like herbs, etc. and steam. I definately am not happy about the antibiotics but I don't know what else to do.
MORE INFO> I am taking priobotics, I exercise and have no bad habits like drinking and smoking. I usually get the recommended amount of sleep. I have gastric upset. I have taken herbs for colon cleanse in case of candida. I have tried to eat better and avoid a lot of sugars/carbs and such. That is why I thought I would take the advice of the doctor (although normally it does nothing) but I am desperate!!!
Some people on here freak me out with their answers of how serioius it is and then others say they never get rid of it... I am calling the doctor today because it is the last day of my antibiotics but I like to hear what you all have to say from your experience.

Definately think about the allergy take but this is going on insanely too long! I think you need to, no I INSIST you see an immunologist. Your system is not doing it's job effectively and you need to find out why FAST. They may help you get your life back.
May wellness be upon you!!!

Here are a few more suggestions:
You may have swollen and blocked sinuses because of allergies. Try a daily allergy pill like Claritin and see if things don't get better (prevention-wise).
Do you still have your tonsils/adenoids? Sometimes they can be so big they make a nice hospitable place for bacteria to grow. Get rid of them, and there's room for your sinuses to drain the way they are meant to (or perhaps there's something else blocking the sinus drainholes).
Saline nasal sprays/rinses: use daily. They're proven to work. They get rid of the gunky stuff and flush out germies before they set up house. Once you get used to the idea, they make your head feel wonderful (especially if they're warm).
Wash your hands like a surgeon. Often and for a long time. #1 best way to keep from catching what everyone else is spreading. I'm not talking obsession here...just after touching doorknobs, light switches, phones, etc. Areas where other people touch. And keep your hands away from your mouth, eyes, nose. No sense feeding yourself germs on purpose.

Poor Tess, try mine little remedy, it reeeeeeeally works !!! Put 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (or just plain vinegar if you have to) and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and 2 inches warm water into a large jug and let it fizz right up and mix with a spoon. Add another inch warm water and drink it up Freddy !!! Voila !! You'll be bouncing like a bean in no time. The apple cider vinegar levels off the acidity level in your body as at the moment it is really high, that's why people get ill or mucousy heaps cos of their inability to alkalize their systems to the correct level. It has to do with the amount of hydrochloric acid in your stomach. Yours is too low and this little remedy will sort it quick smart. From now on do it 1/2 hour before each meal and you won't know yourself girl, you'll be just fine and dandy !!!
PEACE & LOVE & ALL THAT

First of all, I would get off the antibiotics. I think you will find that they will not help. Second, you need to realize that the sinuses are directly linked to the Liver. If you have a liver problem, you will have a sinus problem.
This problem takes some time to fix, but it is definitely fixable.
I used to get colds, flu, and have allergies so bad that my eyes would swell closed and drip constantly for about 4 months out of each year. I have not had a single allergy reaction in 4 years now. Completely gone. NO, I didn't go to a doctor and get allergy shots. NO, I didn't go to my local pharmacy and get a bunch of drugs. NO, I didn't take antibiotics. And especially, do NOT get a flu shot! These are loaded with things that are very harmful to your body like Thimersol (mercury used to preserve the garbage).
I beefed up my immune system, changed my diet, and the results are proof it worked.
Your liver will be damaged if you take aspirin, excedrin, antibiotics, any drugs legal or illegal. If you are eating a lot of omega 6 fatty acids, they are very inflammatory and if you don't balance them with omega 3 fatty acids, you will encourage the problem you are having. Omega 6 fatty acids and a lot of toxins are found in ALL SOY products and Canola oils are about 100 x more toxic than the SOY garbage! Soy will reduce your uptake of minerals needed to keep you from having this issue.
Stop eating commercial beef products and all hydrogenated oils. These are VERY bad for this problem. Eat beef from grass fed cattle. You can find it on the internet or contact me and I will give you a great source. The grass fed cattle produce large amounts of omega 3 fatty acids, Vitamin K, Vitamin E, and CLA (coagulated Linoeic Acid) and Vitamin B12 that you can only get in beef.
You also need to improve your digestion and remethylate your cells. After each meal, take Betaine HCL + a potassium activator. This will greatly reduce the toxic build up in your intestines, get rid of any so called "acid indigestion issues" and it will remethylate your cells that will have a great by product by increasing your life expectancy about 30 years.
I also suggest drinking several glasses of distilled water with real lemon (from squeezed lemons only) each day. This will cleanse the liver and help turn your body more alkaline. It is important that you get a lot of quality minerals in your body as well. Go to this web site and order the "Coral Complex." This product is the highest quality mineral complex you can buy. www.healthline.cc
The next thing you need to improve that immune system are 3 things: Colostrum in powder form from www.ROEX.com Put one heaping teaspoon in some juice 2 times a day. Next thing is Oleuropin (olive leaf extract) from the www.healthline.cc
Don't be afraid to take a lot of this. This will actually go to work on getting rid of any bacteria, virus, or fungus aggravating the sinus. The next product is Allicin. This is an incredible infection fighter that really works. It even kills biofilms in the body that macrophages will not even touch.
The one other product you need to take a lot of is: Nucleotides. These elements will boost your immune system into high gear.
Don't be afraid of these products because they are all natural and the body assimilates them extremely well.
Don't be afraid to take lots of these products because the more you take, the better it will work. None of these have the usual toxic tagalongs found in pills that can aggravate your condition.
good luck

You could be allergic to one of the herbs you are taking. Do you have a fever? The same thing happened to me earlier this year.I thought I was going to die. It turns out that I am allergic to pine. I figured it out on my own. Every time I would go into the garage I would be miserable for the rest of the day. I had pine needles left over from the Christmas tree on the floor. Ever day I do laundry so I was sick every day. I didn't do laundry for a couple of days because my kids were not here. I realized I was OK for those days. I cleaned up the pine needles(before I cleaned them up I took 2 Benadryl) since I cleaned them up I have been OK. It could be alot of things. You need to figure out what you are exposed to, everything you are taking, make-up hairspray..everything. Stop using them one by one so you can figure out what it is. It is difficult, but worth it when you figure it out. You can use a product or take medicine for a long time and then become allergic to it.

I've have had the same problem since about 1980. I've really got allergies and the only way to be tested is to get off those sinus meds you are taking for about two weeks. I went on allergy shots and it gave me the relief I needed.

Sounds like you are doing all the conventional things to help. A suggestion....get off wheat products totally and see what happens.
I have heard good things about this allergy treatment method, if you're really desperate you might want to take a look now...

Have you tried allergy medicine? From experience, it sounds like it's all allergy related. Insist on getting checked for allergies. Also, if you sleep with your head propped up, the fluid should clear your head within a week.

Try Excedrin. That can usually help some. I actually have a sinus infection now, and I'm trying to get an appointment. I hate sinus infections! they are terrible!
