My exboyfriend of 3 years mother just got diagnosed with cancer. (a mass in the lung) She is scheduled for surgeory Thursday. My current bf has a problem with me going to see her in the hospital. I've remained friends with her ever since her son & I broke up. I only talk to my ex once a month if that. My parents hate him and his mother for reasons that are stupid.(my ex cheated a lot) Im over it! Should I go see her even though my current bf and parents are against it?????

While together for the 3 years we lost a pregnancy at 5 months pregnant. My parents and my ex's parents had a lot of disagreements about it!!

You need to do what you feel you need to do - your visit will mean a lot to his mother, and no matter how it turns out you'll have no regrets about not following your heart - this has nothing to do with your ex, and your parents and current boyfriend should realize that.

Yes, you should go see her. The relationship that you had with your ex and the relationship you have with his mother are two different things. If you care about the woman and you consider her a friend you should go see her. If your current boyfriend truly cares about you he will understand and there shouldn't be any problem. Your past is your past and I am sure he has a past of his own. The choice is yours, but I would definitely go see her.

Steff if you have remained close to your ex bf mother you should go see her no matter what your current bf or parents have to say.
when me and bf broke up i went and saw his mother 4 days a week and if she got sick i would go and visit her.

Go see her, she will appreciate it. Lung cancer is the most deadly of cancers, most people don't survive. Don't regret not seeing her if she doesn't make it. If your current bf doesn't like it too bad

You should go see her at the hospital, your bf should be ok with that since you are going to visit a person who had just had life threatning surgery. But you should tell your bf that you will go visit her.

it's NOT a stupid reason why you're parents hate both him and his mom. obviously he never thought much of you 'cause he cheated on you more than once! i'm surprised that you still talk to him and his mom. there's no way you should go visit her. its like you're acting like you're ok with what your ex did. i don't know if you're truly "over" it. reason being that you're hear asking for advice. give your parents credit. they don't like him b/c of what he did, treated you horribly (by cheating). the care about you and they love you...believe it or not! there's a reason why parents are parents....to give advice to their children, to raise their children the best they can, raise their children with love. i'm 24 and between my parents, they've got 98 yrs of experience between them. i've learned that they are a heck of a lot smarter than me!

first of all it is none of your current bf business who you see and who you don't!!! you are not married to him!! secondly the women could die and she is your friend do you really want that on your conscious that you could have seen her but didn't because some man who you let control you said NO! GIRL be a women and do what you want to do!

If you think it would mean a lot to her and brighten her day to know that you are thinking and praying for her during this difficult time, then you should do it. You should tell your detractors that they are being closed minded and cold hearted.

Even if you hate him. Go check on her. take her a basket of heavy fruits and make him carry it in. if he tries to hit on u just say i am not comfortable with this.

if you consider her a friend then you need to go see her. when my mom had cancer she really appreciated all of the people who came to visit her in the hospital.
