She is the host of Semi-Homemade. Why does this woman have her own television show?

This is actually a recipe of hers:

Kwanzaa Celebration cake using purchased Angel Food Cake, jarred frosting, canned apple pie filling, and CORN NUTS?? Then she tops it off with huge red candles? Seriously?!

Haha! Funny you should say that. We're consistantly picking on her around our house. My husband and I always refer to her as "The Lush" because she always has to make a huge pitcher of alcoholic beverages at the end of each show. And those ridiculous "table-scapes"....who really does that?!?

I think Sandra has her own TV show for one main reason: she's attractive. I personally don't think she's "all that", but it does help (if you're a TV star) to be good-looking.

As for her cooking skills: she knows what she's talking about (I can do without the "tablescapes"), and I think the show is directed toward people who want to prepare classy-looking stuff, without doing all the prep work. Using a plain store-bought cake (as a base for a more complicated dessert) is something I would do, myself.

She does come off as a bit of a ditz, though.

And I looked at that Kwanzaa cake recipe. I don't know if it would be appropriate for a Kwanzaa celebration, but the recipe itself doesn't look bad. I like the pumpkin seeds, but I'd omit the popcorn and the corn nuts (???).

I like the concept of semi-homemade cooking, but not her or her show. Yet I still watch it.

1. Too skinny
2. Those matching colors of curtains and appliances and her dress, and the dishes
3. Tablescape. I mean seriously, who runs out and buys all that new fabric, plastic flowers, new dishes, every time they have a tea party??

Ridiculous.

I hate to admit that I like some of her recipes, but that is where it ends. She looks more like a model and her hair is way to perfect to be a cook in the kitchen. Yesterday they had the chocolate episode on and she wore all white. I kept waiting for her to splash something on herself, but never did. She also looks like she is to afraid to get her hands dirty and is honestly very disorganized. She doesn't seem to fit into a kitchen, like that is not her setting. She is very annoying. One last thing she talks down to the camera, in a way that she is better than us. If you haven't seen an episode watch it you will see what I mean.

I think they enjoy the fact that she does everything with some sort of festive wear on. And if you have ever watched her show when she is at the beach, GOOD LORD!, the women has her girls out for everyone to enjoy. I think the food network needed a bimbo of some sort, and they found it in her.

She's good for a laugh if nothing else.

Some of her recipes are all right but I have to agree w/ you. I cannot stand that every time she has a show her kitchen is all redecorated w/ all her expensive appliances to match the theme color.

Sandra Lee is an idiot. It is AMAZING she was actully given a show on Food Network, but then again, the network is getting worse and worse all the time. Rachael Ray is annoying as hell, Paula Deen needs to go away along with her stupid kids and husband and Emerial sucks.

Corn nuts?

ahaha

I think most of recipes are silly.. If you are going to all the trouble make it all HOMEMADE.

I think it's hilarious that her clothes and kitchen match the dish or theme.

I like some of her things. But more often than not they are ridiculous. Not to mention that fact that she lets her very fake girlies hang out.
