I would see a neurologist. This could be a number of things, you may need a scan taken of your brain. It could be serious or it could be as simple as a need to drink more water.- It could also be ADD (attention defecit disorder). I have ADD and often times forget everything that was said or who i had spoken to about something. If you think it could be this i would speak to a psychiatrist. I can repeat all of this if necessary.........=)

Not to be a jerk but do you drink or use any drugs? Do you take any perscription medication? Drinking/drugs and medication can easily cause this. Especially medication that deals with mental issues.

A recent study just proved that the more you sleep, the better you retain your memories. Maybe you are just sleep deprived?

If this really bothers you or you believe it has the potential to serious impact your life in a negative way...i would go see a Dr.

Overuse of alcohol, causing "blackouts" where you are conscious but you don't recall any of a moment in time, bipolar illness when you are manic, or Alzheimer's are some ideas. See a doctor.

Maybe you had something else on your mind and weren't actively *listening*. It happens, and you wouldn't remember what was said because you weren't actually focused on it at the time.
