I really like him too. He has such a great personality and I can see past the wheelchair I just dont want him to think I like him because of it. I'm willing to do whatever for him and I just need some outside advice on how to really handle this situation cause I like him and dont want to mess it up or anything. so anything anything anything will help.

We've gone out before and I asked him out for valentines day so we've established the friendship but I want it to be more.

I am utmost proud of you. You are my hero. I too used to be in a wheel chair due to a very bad car accident and was told I wouldn't ever walk. I proved them wrong but I was one of the lucky ones.

However, deep down inside handicap people feel life hasn't given them a fair shake. And to find a mate that will look past imperfections and hardware has to be a Godsend. I tip my cyber hat off to you. You will have to bridge other issues as they arise but please understand the bigger picture OK.

There is social activities he can still participate in with you. Dances, clubs, restaurants, etc, etc. He is only as limited as the vehicle that gets him there. And the rest is his ability to rise above and (get his) as it were.

Does he treat you any different when you are standing? If not, why treat him any differently because he's in a chair. If you had a broken leg you would expect some help but I don't think you would expect someone to carry you around and treat you as though you couldn't do for yourself. Treat him the same way. Just love him and any adjustments will come as needed.

Treat him like a two legged walking individual. Don't baby him patronize him or make apologies. He's the same guy, just sitting down.
