Because you probably get low on endorphins. Foods high in fat increase endorphins and make you happy. Eat more olive oil, almonds and avocados during the week and see if you feel better.
A weekly cheat meal is fine.

You should supplement with some omega3s. I mix in one tablespoon of flaxseed oil with the two MRPs (met-rx) I consume each day. I noticed that I did not crave fatty food as much throughout the week. I too get the urge for junky food, especially on a saturday night. There's nothing wrong with a few slices of pizza on a day during the week. One other thing I noticed is that if you stay away from junk food long enough, it tastes absolutely disgusting when you taste it months later. I had a big mac meal about a month ago after going many months without eating mcdonalds. Let me tell you, that big mac came right back out. There's a reason fitness and nutrition gurus like Jack Lalanne tell you to stay away from refined foods. The guy is 90 and he looks like he is 60.

Best of luck to you in all your endeavors.

Your body craves fats more because thats what you like to eat. Heck yea its ok to have a cheat meal once a week!! Even though I eat healthy, you can't completely with hold the foods that you enjoy to eat. You have to learn how to balance it out and eat it in moderation and it wont effect your body.

If you're realizing this because now you're lean and muscular, whereas before you weren't, then its because your body is not used to its current Body Mass Index. It'll take some time to get used to, but you will eventually. If you're maintaining a work out regimen, one such meal a week isn't a bad idea.
