Great big thumbs up for Pyrat XO reserve. Very nice smooth sipping rum. A little harder to find but every bit as smooth is Ron Anejo Anniversario from Venezuela. Verrrrrrry nice....

If you are looking for a rum for making mixed drinks just use Bacardi. If you want a really great rum for sipping on ice try Westerhall plantation rum. It's aged in wood barrels which gives it a nice buttery richness. Or, try Pyrat XO reserve, it's delicious too.

Goslings black seal rum is my favorite. I drink it all summer with some ginger beer and a lime. Yay summer!

Bacardi is classic, Don Julio is a good second, how about Captain Morgan's for a little change?
