This is a good fight. I'd pay 50 dollars for this in PPV. Benn was a ferocious puncher, whereas Hopkins was a master boxer. This will be a classic. There will be few exchanges in this fight. I don't think Hopkins will allow Benn to hit him and diminish his stamina. B-Hop will circle the ring and use it to his advantage, trying to frustrate Benn.
Both men have almost equal experience. Benn has the edge in power and speed. Hopkins has the edge in stamina and defense. I think Hopkins will break Nigel down. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Hopkins stops Benn. Ultimately, though, I think it will reach the distance with Hopkins pulling out a unanimous decision. The cards will read something like this: 114-113,Hopkins; 116-112,Hopkins; and, 115-113,Hopkins.

Benn was a true warrior in the ring and he always put on a show you could never usually say his fights were dull, but i could see this one being a pretty dull affair i think Hopkins would use every bit of his defensive know-how to record a points decision over the frustrated Benn. I remember seeing fighters like Eubank frustrating Benn and Eubank didnt have half the skill of B-Hop so i just cant see Benn finding a way to break down the executioner, but i also dont think that B-Hop would stop Benn even though Hopkins did stop Trinidad who was a banger as well. So i would see the result being a 12 RND UD to Hopkins.

This is a tough one.. Good question. I would have to say that Benn would wear Hopkins down in this fight. Benn fought much longer at this weight than Hopkins did. I think Benn has a little more power than Hopkins resulting in a unanimous decision for Benn.

Good question Brent! Benn was a tremendous puncher and a very determined fighter. Hopkins is a great defensive fighter, very smart with a lot of ring saavy. He also has a good chin and stamina. I think that he would outbox Benn and survive some good puches from him particularly early in the fight when Benn is the most dangerous and wins the decision.

The clash of heads between Nigel Benn and Gerald McClellan was maybe the lowest point in Detroit boxing bar none. It was a freak accident and a tragedy that will always cause the blogbaba as well as anyone else associated with it nothing but pain. The memory hurts as much now as it did when it happened.
Nigel was a good boxer, Bernard is/was a great boxer, enough said.

Good match. Hopkins would have had his hands full with Benn.
Ultimately, I think that Hopkins would prevail - he could match Benn with brute force, but with his ring smarts on top of that, too much for the Brit.

you do not ask elementary questions my pal! both are greats, you need to argue that Cerdan not in any respect lost in his finished occupation of round 100 and twenty fights. He formally lost 4, 2 were through DQ, one grow to be regarded to be an appalling decision, and one grow to be at the same time as he injured his shoulder hostile to LaMotta. He grow to be not in any respect soundly out pointed or knocked out. If he had lived and fought Jake LaMotta he possibly would have gained his identify again and lengthy gone on to wrestle Sugar Ray Robinson, what a wrestle that would were! Hopkins too has never soundly been overwhelmed, he grow to be obviously out pointed through Roy Jones Jr in 1993, yet all of his different losses have come through SD. He had almost ten years as international middleweight champion and made 20 helpful defenses, between the longest reigns and optimal type of identify defenses in boxing historic previous. even more beneficial staggering is that at previous 40 he moved as a lot as gentle heavyweight and is continuing to dominate at 40 5! i'd p.c.. Hopkins through close decision, i'd basically supply him the aspect because Cerdan grow to be a fighter who by and large got here ahead, and that is what Hopkins likes, a fighter to go back ahead so he can tie him up and counter. it may well be an in intensity messy wrestle and prefer I say i imagine Hopkins would take an in intensity decision.

Hopkins, wary of Benn's power, counterpunches and outboxes his way to a unanoimous decision win over Benn.
