You should invite the people that you want to attend your wedding. If she is one of them, go ahead and invite her. It's your wedding!

If it is akward then it is really up to you! If she has been a family friend for so long...some may expect her to be invited but the desicion is ultimately yours to make!
It's your wedding...if it is too akward then explain that you don't feel right having her there.I really don't know the situation so ...I can't say much more than that!
