How Come No One Is Talking About The Fact That Saudi Arabia Is Giving Support To The Sunni Insurgents In Iraq?

We know that some of the choppers that have been shot down recently were shot down in Sunni dominated areas of iraq.

Why is no one calling for the invasion of Saudi Arabia - or even speaking to the idea of tough measuers against them?

I lived in Saudi Arabia for 15 years. They HATE Americans and westerners in general. However, they control a very large percent of the the oil out put in the world. Guess who is the largest consumer of oil/gas in the world: The U.S. So, relations between the two countries are Surfaceably amiable. Why don't we all buy hybrids you say...or my favorite, why don't we stop using oil? We will - over time. People need to understand that considerable amount of our economy (jobs, money, etc) is tied up in the oil industry. What would happen to those millions of people and their families if we stopped using oil tomorrow? Nothing good I can tell you. So as long as they are in control of those resources, we won't PUBLICLY talk about their HIGH level of involvement in Terrorism. Most middle eastern countries are run by kings, dictators, religious nutcases and the like. THEY DO NOT WANT TO SEE A DEMOCRACY ANYWHERE IN THE MIDDLE EAST. Why? If a middle eastern country like Iraq became successfully democratic, patriots of other mid-east countries would want the same freedoms for themselves. It is all about control.

Plain and Simple...

If the US (or any other country, for that matter) even so much as imply any form of attack on Saudi Arabia, They're probably gonna end up with an endless chain reaction among all Muslim and semi-Muslim states around the world. The reason is that Saudi happens to be the main destination for all Muslims who want to perform their pilgrimage and visit what they claim to be the holiest city on earth.

Moreover, I don't think invading and/or attacking other countries is the solution to each and every problem. Let us not forget Vietnam, and the current situation in Iraq (which IMHO is a very similar one, if not worse - forget what mother media tells you). Patriotism goes a long way, but it has to be bound by reason.

Not in my view. A good enough reason is the establishment of a stable democratic government. Unfortunately, the manner in which we are doing this building will just result in yet another American built government overseas that hates us. "Destroying Islamic totalitarianism requires a punishing military onslaught to end its primary state representative and demoralize its supporters. We need to deploy all necessary force to destroy Iran's ability to fight, while minimizing our own casualties. We need a campaign that ruthlessly inflicts the pain of war so intensely that the jihadists renounce their cause as hopeless and fear to take up arms against us. This is how America and its Allies defeated both Nazi Germany and Imperialist Japan." We cannot be referee to these people. They will never fall in line with western ideas as to how to settle differences so the best method, being as we can't just turn away and hope they won't bother us is to force a submission by military means. The Sunni and Shiite tribes have been fighting each other for decades, I don't expect it to stop anytime soon unless it is forced to a halt. Iran and the UAE are behind the conflict. Start with the root of the problem rather than addressing the symptoms.

Saudia Arabia is on our side.
We already have forces there so there is no need to invade.
Saudi Arabia has already said it would support the Sunni's if there was outside support for the Shia.
There is evidence in the last few days that Iranian equipment is getting into Iraq.
Don't jump to the same conclusion the Govt has. In these countries the case often is the Left Hand doesn't know what the Right is doing.
In other words it may be not the governments that are supplying arms

Just because they were shot down in Sunni dominated areas doesn't mean Sunni's shot them down. Other than that I don't believe ANY insurgent of any denomination should be supported. But realistically some insurgents might need to be (again my opinion), I'm very Machiavellian and I believe if you can get two enemies to kick the crap out of one another, so be it, all the less opposition you'll encounter in the end.

Where is your proof against Saudi Arabia? Even Bush could find SOME facts to support invading Iraq.


Do you have any links to where Saudi Arabia claimed this? I just don't remember hearing about it. Can you back this up with anything other than your empty words?

you can't believe everything you read or watch now days.. only people who know are the ones right there doing it or seen first hand whom shot them down... now as to saudi arabia they're prince is like havard college graduate so i doubt he had anything to do with sunnis.. so thats just my opinion..

Al Qaeda linked groups are enemies of the state of Saudi Arabia, they want to remove the family in power and take over.

In short.. even Sunni Muslims hate other Sunni Muslims.

there are islamo-fascists in every mid-eastern country. obviously you can't invade countries that happen to have nuts living there, if that was the case, we'd invade every country on earth. if you need to take your anger out on someone, take it out on the Iranian govt. they supplied and probably trained those cowards. but anyways, the saudi govt. actually supports what the US is trying to do, but, like here in the US, there's opposition to that. except there, they like to kill people that disagree with them. but, as long as the Saudi Govt. half-way supports us, we won't do to them what we've done to Iraq. allies in that region (even if it is Saudi), are hard to come by. we'll take what we can get at this point.
