It's no use, Oscar. These fundies are very narrow-minded people and they won't open their mind to accept other views apart from their own. Their God is some horrible creature from the sound of it, not a God of love and compassion because a God of truth is a God of the world and universe, not a Baptist god. Yes, they should be nice but they've been misled by the likes of Jerry Falwell and James Dobson, do they CAN'T be nice no matter what you say coz they are what they believe is the truth, when it simply isn't. That's why we have someone like George W Bush leading the country coz the lost lambs have been misled into the valley and left for good. BTW I'm gay too so I understand your question and I agree that they should be nice =)

When did I ever harass you? I have never even spoken to you before. I am no angel. I really would appreciate it if people could stop making blanket statements about Christianity. We all have different practices and variations in our beliefs. I am not accountable for the actions of other people just because they read the same book. I would be perfectly happy to be nice to you. Believe me Fundamentalists annoy me greatly, mostly because they make people like you believe that they somehow represent all Christians. Please understand that they do not. Jesus is the Prince of Peace, so yes we should be nice. Have a wonderful day.

You are right - Christians shouldn't "harass" others. But Christians are told to spread the Word of God to others. That is a big part of why Christians talk to non-believers trying to tell them about Christ.
Not only that, but here's a good scenario I heard not long ago. This guy was going over this overpass in the city that is notorioiusly high and curved. As you go around the curve it slopes down too. Well, last winter during one period of icing, of course the bridge iced up. It was early and before any sand trucks had had the chance to sand the bridge. He was going very very slowly and had managed to get around the curve okay, but noticed at the bottom that there were some cars crashed into each other. Reason - they took the bridge too fast with the ice and then went to slow down and skid, and crashed.
He pulled off on the shoulder and walked towards the top of the curve to warn other drivers to slow down or they would inevitably suffer that same fate. But he said people were just honking at him, giving him the finger, etc. and would go right on. And guess what would happen - they too would crash. They didn't heed the warning. He was just trying to help.
That is a good parallel here. Christians believe that God exists, and that He sent Jesus to save us all from eternal suffering. Christians basically then know what lies ahead - eternal suffering (aka Hell). They are trying to warn others of the impending doom and are only trying to help. Some will listen and heed the warning, but many will not and also hate the person trying to warn them.
So it is only because Christians are called to love others like brothers or sisters and want to help them be saved eternally, as to why they try to tell you about salvation.
Unfortunately some people don't do this in a gentle way or an inviting way, but more of in a berating way or harassing way.
If any Christians have approached you in this way, I am sorry. They should just talk to you about it in a regular conversational way. If you reject God, then that is ultimately your choice. But know that they talk to you and try to keep at it with you because they don't want to see you spend all of eternity in anguish, but to rather spend it in peace.

Christians ARE nice. Hardly our fault that so many react violently to our beliefs. :S
Would you agree that if someone is being mugged then someone walking on the street should try to help that person in whatever way possible? That's what Christianity's all about; helping others. To not try to save a person's soul when given the chance (which, I'm sure, is your major gripe in this situation, yes?) can be considered a sin.

The more you try to hide sin the more sin shows itself to be exceedingly sinful. If you don't believe in salvation through the blood of the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world then you don't believe Christians are going to heaven. If you consider hearing the truth harrassment then maybe you are being convicted of your sin, because the people who just think Christians are funny or dumb don't.

Hi Oscar,
I'm Christian, and I don't harrass anybody.
Yep, I'm glad I know where I'm going - but sinless is stretching that real real thin.
I've studied in the manuscripts for years and years now, but I do not go to any church, because they teach bullshit.
If someone isn't nice, don't share a doobie with 'em.

I try in every way to be nice. Harassment gets you no where in life. If I give a suggestion and you take it the wrong way who has the problem, me or you. I am trying to be helpful by answering your question. You are getting offended by my answer. I say Jesus loves, has mercy and compassion. How is this offensive to you? You can simply ignore what I say and go on or choose to investigate on your own.

4 Sure-Especially at this time- The citizens of Constantinople, the most powerful and richest empire in the world at that time, said that they would rather be Muslims than united with the Church of Rome.
We must unite and we must do it yesterday.
