I was a sportsAholic growing up. I played everything until I blew my knee in highschool football. I still am in shape but I am finally healthy enough to run full speed again. I want to drop about 15 lbs so I will be completely cut. I consume about 15,000 - 20,000 a week. I plan to drastically cut that down to my highschool diet which is about 5,000 - 6,000 calories a week with 45 minutes of cardio 3 times a week. Is this over dueing it ? I want to shed weight fast really fast!

You will be fine, especially if you have that much to lose. The question is what exactly are you eating? Are you getting in 5-6 meals a day, or are you eating 1 500 Cal burger and 400 Cal shake? Cause that's not gonna work. I think you should add another 200 per day so you can increase your cardie to 4 times a week with out feeling fatique.

Make sure you are eating Tons of Veggies, take a muti vitamin, daily, and get some good protein as well (Fish/Chicken grilled or baked) Can tuna is good too.

Good luck!

Remember to always eat back the calories you burn. If you eat 1500 calories and burn 500 through exercise, that gives you a total of 1000 calories - you should never go below 1200. If you go below 1200, then your body's metabolism will slow down and you will have less energy. Either eat at least 1700 calories, or decrease your cardio.

I would say that is over dueing it. At 5000 calories a week that would mean only 715 calories a day not even enough for a woman dieter. I would gradually cut your calories until you get to around 1500-1800 per day otherwise your body may actually slow its metabolism to prevent from starving! Occasionally eat a big meal with 500 or more calories to maintain a high metabolism.

You have to be very careful when cutting calories. Everybody has a specific number of calories needed each day just to maintain body function. I'd check with your DR. to see what they would recommend as a healthy calorie count for your height, weight, and age. They can let you know the best route to go.

You need to consume about 1000-1500 calories a day. Eat too less and your body will go into starvation mode.

no such thing as fast fat loss. you can not force the body to metabolize free fatty acids you can only encourage it with a balanced diet and regular exercise.

dropping the cals by 70% is a good way to burn up some muscle...
