If the antibiotic is not helping then go back to the doc and have them try something else. If your doc is the type to do it call and tell them it isn't working and ask for a change in medication. Once you get this current problem taken care of be sure to take a good multivitamin that is well absorbed by your body and a good antioxidant supplement daily to prevent future problems. I used to be on antibiotics 3-5 times a year for sinus infections/sinusitis and have been free of them for about 8 years now since getting my immune system healthy.

I feel your pain! I used to dread getting a cold because I knew a terrible sinus infection would inevitably follow, and sometimes even wheezing brochitis. Years ago I had Augmentin, but in recent years, I had much better results with azithromycin (Z-Pak), which is a 5-day course.
But it's been a while since I've had a sinus infection and I attribute that to boosting my immune system when I start getting a cold. At the first sign of a cold, I start taking Airborne, which is a mix of vitamins and herbs, as well as zinc lozenges. I do this for a couple of days, and my cold symptoms are lessened and usually by about the 3rd or 4th day the cold is gone. And most importantly, it never develops into a sinus infection.
Now if you already have a sinus infection, one of the best things you can do is drink water. Sounds too simple, but it really helps, take my word for it. But you have to drink a LOT of it - have a bottle handy at all times and be constantly taking sips - ALL DAY. This helps thin the mucous so your sinuses can drain. The nurse was right about the humidifier, too.
Hope you feel better soon.

You maybe Allergic to what you are taking. Have you had your Doctor do some Allergy test on you? It could be Allergies that have become sinus infection. Keep your house dusted and ware a mask while you dust. Clean your vents, vacuum or sweep your floors and furniture. Do you have animals in your home? A mouse problem? Roach problem? A cat box? Have you been around anyone that ware's allot of perfume, cologne? Do you live in the Country area? These are some things to consider.

Allergy testing and check over your environmental living conditions. Mold? Rugs can be a big source. Allergy free pillows. No down. You have to go to the allergist asap. If all else fails have a Cat Scan done. Sinus infections can be resistant to antibiotics. I get it so bad my eye closes up. A Cat Scan revealed polyps.Good Luck.
