Microsoft needs Apple.
Batman needs the Joker.
Bush needs Iraq...(or Iran, N Korea, Afghanistan, or any other random country or group of people)
Everyone needs an enemy, or else you can't keep the viewer's attention.

Look around Yahoo Answers. Do you see the arrogance, pride, blatant disrespect, and intellectual ego of imperfect humans? Do you see how many foolishly reject God despite proof all around them that He exists??????
Look at all the self-proclaimed "Chrisitans" who twist the Word of God and spread false teachings!!!
God has CHOSEN not to destroy Satan until HIS appointed time...so that humans can not later complain they did not have Free Will. So that humans can not later debate, whether or not Satan was correct when He told Eve we did not need God?
Most importantly, God has not yet destroyed Satan, because those who will be saved, are learning lessons and becoming stronger, so that their spirits, hearts, and minds are transformed...preparing them for a future life of perfection.
In contrast, Unbelievers will fully understand why they will not receive Eternal Life, as the Lord will remind them of all of their choices, actions, and beliefs right before destruction.
God has not destroyed Satan...because of His mercy, grace, love, and willingness to forgive His Children. It has NOTHING to do with Satan, as His destiny has already been revealed by God. Satan is no more than a tool, that can only do what the Lord allows.
Regardless of Satan's efforts...He is inferior to God and anything he does God will use so that it works together for good to those who love the Lord?” (Rom. 8:28)
What we are experiencing now(violence, hate, etc), is proof that we were never intended to exist without total dependence on the Lord. We need God's protection, guidance, and Love daily. Be thankful that God can see what we can not see or understand.
We will never fully understand everything God does or does not do. It's not important that we do. We simply must trust that He always has the best interests of His Children that will be saved in mind. Blessings, Miji

No. Satan like all beings, existed long before this earth was created and populated. He choose not to follow God's plan, but to go his own way with a portion of other spirits prior to this existence. God is not able to destroy another beings existence. He can however bind Satan and Satan's followers and will do so at a time when it benefits His plan for mankind. Satan will always exist. There is opposition in all things. God, Satan; good, evil. Satan does serve a purpose, in that he provides mankind with the choice of doing evil. Agency is one of the most important characteristics that we have inherited from God. If Satan were not allowed to run free we would not be able to learn to use our agency.

In God's written word, in the book of Revelation, He tells us what will happen to Satan at the end. The written word states that Satan (the Devil), will be cast into the lake of burning sulfur to be tormented forever and ever. So, no God will not destroy Satan, although He has the ability to. God won't change His word. That would make His word untrue. That is why He hasn't already sent him to eternal punishment. Revelation 20:10.

He already has. Jesus said he has fought the battle. Now, man has to catch up with these happenings. Satan has already been defeated by Christ our Lord. His vested interest is us. man only learns God, since Adam sinned in the garden, by understanding what is bad and evil. We have to find our way back to the Father through salvation. When Adam sinned he seperated us from the father. This is why Jesus came to give salvation, because otherwise we would be stuck with satan and his fallen angels forever because satan is the ruler of this world as we know it. God cast him down from heaven and then satan and the fallen angels inhabited the earth. And when adam sinned against God by eating of the tree of life, man too had to leave the realms of God and come to earth. God created a pipeline back to him through Jesus what we have to do is accept it.

Yes, of course God has the ability to destroy Satan...but He also has the ability to accomplish His purposes while allowing him to live for a while .
Satan cannot prevent God's puposes...neither can the rage of the heathen stop the plan of God in those who are the Chosen and faithful to God.

Satan is none other than the mind of man turned away from God. The first satan was Nimrod or Lucifer, son of the Dawn. He taught people of God to turn to him and not God. For this he was executed in Egypt. His wife, Semiramis, further turned his corrupt practices into a religion which became the Roman church and all its Protestant spin offs.

Yes and no. God certainly has the power to do so. However, angels were created as immortal beings. That was God's eternal plan for them. Therefore, destroying some angels simply because they turned against God would violate, and in fact reverse God's eternal plan. Since God cannot contradict Himself, therefore on that basis He cannot destroy trhat which He has specifically created to live forever.

He does have the power to destroy Satan, but what would be the point? Lucifer needed to be taught a lesson for rebelling against God, and you don't learn anything if you're wiped from existence.
It's like the whole Heaven-Hell thing. The rule isn't that if you don't believe in Jesus/God then you simply cease to exist in this thing we prefer to call The Universe, but instead you get shot down to Hell to reflect upon ALL the opportunities you've had to repent your sins but didn't.

Of course he has the ability, in fact he kinda already told us his plan for getting rid of him and others who choose his ways over God's. However, his presence is somewhat needed for us to choose God over something very different and probably for things that we don't really know of. Then you wonder if he knows everything then wouldn't he know who's going to follow Him and who's not? It leads to a million questions about the nature of God
that we can't quite understand.
This is just my opinion, by the way....not saying I'm right, but that's what I think.

Why would he do that? Free will is very important to God. He allowed Satan to go on the Earth Mission so that we could choose between their sales pitches. God pitches that we be harmonious, Satan preaches that we be disharmonious. Make your choice.
