i live in the NYC area, and I am looking for a 1966 mustang convertible. Does anyone know anywhere where i can go to look for one- offline, online websites etc. Also, no need to say Ebay because I have tried there.

Hemmings Motor News is the bible for old car fans. It comes out every month, is about 1,000 pages thick, and if you can't find it in HMN there are none. They are also on line, but the search function is a bit limited if you are not a subscriber.

It will be more cost effective to buy a 66 Mustang convertible from a dealer that sells classic cars and that is already restored or a nice original. Finding a rebuildable convertible Mustang is very difficult because all the good cars have been purchased up, and the ones that are left are beyond repair or are parts cars. In terms of price you need to get a copy of old cars price guide. This will have the most recent price & condition of the Mustang you decide to buy.

You do know this is on the top 10 of the most expensive cars to insure, don't you?

It won't be easy to find a 41 year old vehicle, your best bet might be the Mustang discussion boards on the web. Perhaps someone there would be willing to sell.

I hope you have a nice, securely locked garage. I wouldn't take my '65 to NYC for anything.
