Well, like the last person said, you could have a near death experience. Out of body experiences are common with hallucinogenic drugs (not that I'm recommending you try this.) Also, meditation can produce an out of body experience but this is definitely not the quick fix! Meditation is a long, slow process of initially focusing on a single point to help you get control of your mind. Once you can handle that, you learn to simply observe each thought as it arises which eventually brings the recognition that nothing is permanent, everything changes, and your body is not an unchanging separate entity but really connected to every other thing in the Universe. This can produce an out of body experience. Also, there are tapes and cds available that speed up the meditation experience. By listening to them, you change the length of your brain waves into one experienced by long time meditating people. So this could speed up the procuss for you.

What you are wanting is Astral Travel. There are tons of books on it, and the process of learning how. It takes practice. You start with meditation, and proceed from there. You can also seek out pychics who specialize in past life regression (hypnotherapy) if you don't want to take the time to learn how to do it yourself. Be careful though, because you can come across a lot of fakes. Sylvia Browne has a couple of books on how to learn Astral Travel and contacting your spirit guide.

Umm... maybe you have to be on the verge of dying first. LOL Or go on a soap opera and get a storyline where you're in a coma.

If you are clinically dead you will be headed to heaven. My girlfriend has been clinically dead twice and been on her way to heaven when she was brought back. She can't wait to go back to heaven and has instructed me to not perform CPR on her if I find in a state of needing CPR. She is glad to be alive but can't wait to get back to heaven when it is her time.
