How do you say "I can speak" in Hebrew? Its for a play, if you were wondering. Thanks in advance.

Ani midabare (pronounced "aaa-knee" "mid-aaa-bear") said by a man means "I speak". For a woman, it would be ani midaberet (mid-aaa-beret). "beret" rhymes with ferret. Hope that helps

Context is needed...

If your character has been mute for a while and now it can speak, I'd suggest "I speak", rather than "I can speak".

I speak:
Man: ani medaber (a-nEE me-da-bEr)- אני מדבר
Woman: ani medaberet (a-nEE me-da-bE-ret)- אני מדברת

I can speak:
Man: ani yakhol ledaber (a-nEE ya-khOl le-da-bEr)- אני יכול לדבר
Woman: ani yekhola ledaber (a-nEE ye-kho-lA le-da-bEr)-
אני יכולה לדבר
Or (if the "kh" sound is difficult for you to pronounce [like a German "ch"]),
Man: ani mesugal ledaber (a-nEE me-su-gAl le-da-bEr)-
אני מסוגל לדבר
Woman: ani mesugelet ledaber (a-nEE me-su-gE-let le-da-bEr)-
אני מסוגלת לדבר

If a male is saying it "aNI yaCHOL ledaBER" (ch is pronounced like ch in loch-ness). If a female is saying it's "aNI yechoLA ledaBER"
good luck with your play :-)
