You don't need a filling, per say, but a wedding cake is made of layers. Each tier of the cake is multiple layers. You need something in the middle of these to keep the cake from sliding, as well as to keep it moist. You can get just plain frosting in the middle.

Whatever you want to do, it's up to you guys & what you like. I've actually never seen a filled wedding cake. That said, I'm having one because it adds height to the wedding cake. There is also no extra charge, if that is a concern for you, but that does depend on the place doing your cake.

It is all a matter of personal taste. There is no wedding etiquette that requires a cake to have filling! Besides, you'd be saving some money on a cake without filling!

it is considerate yet i do no longer think of very useful. you will possibly elect your muffins sparkling, which might mean doing those the day earlier your wedding ceremony and that's sometimes the day of the practice consultation and the practice consultation dinner. NO, do no longer do it. They do sound yummy (i admire cake), yet many travelers do no longer consume cake in any respect. And, what approximately human beings that are vacationing? you would be able to finally end up with quite some little muffins sitting on the table. And...all that artwork! while you're needing some thing fit for human intake on your travelers, you will desire to flow with some selfmade cookies in case you elect. or in basic terms some candies in a mesh bag. those are consistently a success.

Nothing is NECESSARY!! you do as you please as long as the bide and groom are happy then it doesnt matter. Its their wedding not anybody elses so its really up to you guys if you want the cake with or without the filling but there is absolutely nothing wrong with a cake and no filling.

It all a matter of taste. I don't like fillings and I wanted to go more traditional with my cake, I had layers of plain white cake and German chocolate. People loved it, there wasn't any left!

You don't need filling to have a delicious cake!

Good Luck!

I have been to about a dozen weddings in my life. ONE of them had filling in their cake. 1 with filling. 11 without. Do the math and then ask your stepdaughter what SHE wants. That is all that matters.

The wedding cake can be whatever you want it to be.

My mom and her husband had a white cake made with custard and fresh fruit between the layers. One of my friends had a simple 1 layer chocolate cake. Another had baked alaska.

I wanted one that had no filling, just plain white cake with white frosting, but they said that filling was needed to keep it moist. They ended up putting in a raspberry filling though we requested none. It wasnt bad,but I had just wanted my plain cake.

If you don't choose a filling, they will just use frosting in between the layers.
